The upright slings like Baby Bjorn are not recommended by some because it is believed they put added stress on the hips and spine while the bones are still soft. Many people love the padded slings because the baby can lie flat at first, lie propped up later and eventually sit upright and facing upright like a baby kangaroo

Over the Shoulder Baby Holder look great and $35-$46 depending on fabric. Well padded too.

Babies need to not be lying against hard surfaces for prolonged periods like car seats as well for back of baby’s cranium development.
